Shangrao (International) Industry-Education-Research Base for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Held Signing Ceremony

On November 4th, the signing ceremony of Shangrao (International) Industry-Education-Research Base for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine (Shangrao Base for short) was held at the Longtan Lake Hotel in Shangrao city. Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Shangrao city Dongjun Pan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Denian Ba, Chairman of National Stem Cell Engineering Research Center Zhongchao Han, and Deputy Mayor Aijing Rao attended the signing ceremony.

Dongjun Pan extended his sincere congratulations to the final signing of this project. He said, the successful launch of Shangrao Base, represented Academician Denian Ba and Professor Zhongchao Han’s painstaking effort to stem cell research, and represented Professor Han’s love to his hometown. With further promotion of this project, it is bound to speed up the research and application of life science, and improve the development of health industry in Shangrao city. Pan said he hoped the implementation of this project would promote the combination of stem cell industrialization, education and research, and speed up the translation of scientific results into practical productive forces. Shangrao city will provide favorable policies to support this project so that it can benefit mankind.
Denian Ba and Zhongchao Han introduced the origin, features and progress of this project to the attendees. They said the settlement of this project in Shangrao will push forward the development of life science industry, and the economic transformation and upgrading. They would actively coordinate various parties, speed up the construction pace, and come into operations as soon as possible.

According to Professor Zhongchao Han, the construction of this project will be completed in three phases, with a total investment of ￥10 billion. The first phase: construction of a stem cell bank, a research institute and a biological treatment center at former Jiangxi Medical School; second phase: construction of a biotechnology park integrating research, education, production, health care and residing together; third phase: construction of an international health care base in Guangfeng Tongba mountain.
